Velo Magazine

Have you ever been to spin class?  I have.  It's a whoopin' that's for sure!!  If you have only biked outside, you should check out spin classes.  It's very strange to be riding a stable bike on carpet or rubber and not actually be climbing a real hill, but it is tough work!!  Anyway, check out this magazine article that mentions Frisco, Colorado as a top mountain bike and road bike destination!!  It's a great vacation or for all you locals out there who aren't biking, you have to check it out!  If you are vacationing, stay at the Holiday Inn Summit County for lodging needs.  ***Spinnnn ya later!

Coors and BBQ

All you can eat BBQ, what more could you want except for $2 Coors and some major free-bees coming your way?  I waited all day to try and win a fly fishing trip from Blue Anglers, but of course, Kelly took the win in a game of ro-sham-bo.  This wasn't your ordinary rock-paper-scissors, this was duck-pelican-herring or something of the sorts.  You have to turn around and not face each other and on 3, flip back and point your poison.  Needless to say, I have an amazing ability to call in ducks, so I'm sure I would have won.

The Sporting News Grill held it's second "Coors Tap the Rockies" party where KSMT and LIFT 106 brought us some live music and Holiday Inn Summit County guests as well as Summit County locals enjoyed quirky games, tons of free stuff and loads of all-you-can-eat BBQ!!!

Breck to stay open 2 more weekends

Snow fell last night, dusting Summit County with a few inches, and best of all, allowing Breckenridge Ski Resort to stay open 2 more weekends past it's original closing date.  Breckenridge Ski Resort will now be open until the last weekend in April, so get your Spring skiing out of the way before you catch mountain bike season!  If you are still looking for your super hot deal for the end of the season for lodging, or looking ahead to plan for the spring and summer, check out the Holiday Inn Summit County in Frisco, Colorado and enjoy a renovated hotel, wonderful amenities and great views!

Big Tubes and Big Hills

So Andy and Adam and I went out for our tubing extravaganza at the Frisco Adventure Park Tubing Hill last Friday (no we were NOT playing hooky!;) )  There was a lot of spinning and my head got very dizzy and then Andy had the great idea the three of us should go "Holiday Inn Style" down the hill all together in one big blob.  If this isn't team bonding I don't know what is!

This was Adam's first time tubing, i'm not sure he was prepared for it until it became real and he actually was headed to the top!
Andy scored big and made it to the end each time, so he didn't have to walk....
And then I scored even bigger because he pulled me to the magic carpet :)

We have to go back.  'Nuff said

YOU.ARE.HERE

Found this map inside a condominium complex on my walk around the building for some sight-seeing today.  It's a beautiful day out today in the 50's with blue skies and lots of sun.

While getting some fresh-air and catching some rays, i snapped a few other pictures of the area around the Holiday Inn.  The lake is still frozen over but the sun shining down over it created a wonderful view.

I actually almost went to whip up a steak on the outside guest grill while I was on my journey...(ssshhh don't tell I'll probably do it tomorrow on another 50 degree day;) )

Tubing Holiday Inn Style

I'm so super excited because the Holiday Inn team is going TUBING today in Frisco!!!  A representative of the Town of Frisco told me the best time to go tubing is after dark on a sunny day.  He said the sun will heat up the course real nice all day and then when the sun goes down, it ices over and you go super fast!  I wish we were going in the dark, but i'll definitely be happy to go during a nice sunny 45 degree day!  Pictures to come later:)

Pink Party and Romp to Stomp Frisco

The Holiday Inn, Summit County and Sporting News Grill in Frisco, Colorado participated in a sponsorship with the Town of Frisco's Romp To Stomp Pink Party.  Tommy made amazing wings for the party and it was all i could do to not eat all 300 of them on the way over to the party.  Great job Tommy and we love sponsoring events like this!

Sittin on the Dock of the Bay ~ Otis Redding Cover

Sittin' in the mornin' snow
I'll be sittin' when the blizzard come
Watching the snow fly by
And then I watch it fly back again, yeah

I'm sittin' on the top of the slopes
Watching the snowww fly by,
Ooo, I'm just sittin' on the top of the slopes
Wastin' time

I left my home in Denver
Headed for the 'Frisco bay
'Cause I've had too much city traffic
And look like snow is gonna come my way

So I'm just gonna sit on the top of the slopes
Watching the snowwww fly by,
Ooo, I'm sittin' on the top of the slopes
Wastin' time

Look like nothing's gonna change
Everything still remains the same
I can't do what ten people tell me to do
So I guess I'll remain the same, yes

Sittin' here resting my skis
And I like to just be alone
It's two thousand vertical feet I roamed
Just to make this slope my home

Now, I'm just gonna sit at the top of the slopes
Watching the snowww fly by
Oooo-wee, sittin' on the top of the slopes
Wastin' time

A Day in the Town of Frisco

The Frisco Historic Park and Museum, dedicated in 1983, holds rich and in-depth information and artifacts.  Below are pictures our Holiday Inn Team took of the Historic Park and Museum on a "Day in the Town of Frisco." Andy also took some great pictures of the Town of Frisco main street on a blue-bird day, what a great place we live in:)

Giant Horses and Ski Joring

I never knew horses, snow, skis and rope mixed well together.  I've heard of skis and snow, horses and rope. And not actually having ever lassoed a horse or cow myself (only having lassoed a wooden resemblance of a baby cow), that shows how much I've really ever dealt with all of these things.  But, when i watched a you tube video of a man in blue jeans being towed down a snowy street with implanted ski jumps behind a giant horse, i had another thing coming.

Of course, these blue-jean-clad-horse-drawn-ski-riding-bump-jumping men needed a place to stay.  So I hooked them up with the Holiday Inn Summit County, Frisco, Colorado.
